The Liturgy Preparation Committee ....

works with the parish priests in preparing and coordinating all that is needed for prayerful worship.

Altar Servers .....

participate in and enhance the community's celebration by assisting the priests and others during worship. Interested in being trained for altar serving? There are training sessions 1-2 times per year. We usually begin training servers in the early sixth grade. Boys, girls and adults are welcome in this ministry.

Art & Environment .....

members work creatively to ensure that our worship space is properly decorated to reflect the current liturgical season, feast or solemnity. Membership is open to all, especially during the seasons pf Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. Artistic abilities are helpful but not required.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion .....

are parishioners who distribute Holy Communion to the congregation gathered at Mass. All confirmed Roman Catholics, 16 years of age or older are invited to participate. One training session and ongoing formation is required.

Greeters at Mass .....

welcome the community to worship. The gift of hopitality helps people to know the welcome of Christ and prepares them to enter into the liturgy.

Lectors .....

serve the parish community by proclaiming the Word of God through the Scripture readings at Sunday and weekday masses, and special liturgies for holy days, funerals, and weddings.

Music .....

There are many ways to praise God with joyful song within our parish:

• Cantor - You will be trained to lead the assembly in song and prayer for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Folk Groups - Join one of these groups and learn contemporary and classic sacred liturature for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Organ/Piano - You will work with the cantors, and be trained to lead the assembly in our community song for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Choristers - Adult group that meets Thrursday evenings for rehearsal and prepares for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Chamber Choir - Adult a cappella group that meets Tuesday evenings for rehearsal and prepares for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Circle of Light Ringers - Adult hand bell choir that meets Thursday evenings for rehearsaland prepares for Sunday and special liturgies.
• Youth Choir - Youth, 6th - 12th grades. If you love to sing and want to grow in your musical skills and your faith, join us! Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings for Sunday and special liturgies.

Sacristan Assistant .....

All adults and young adults are invited to share in this ministry. You will help keep the sanctuary, sacristy, vestments and church linens clean in preparation for the beautiful liturgies at Most Pure Heart of Mary. You may choose to work once a week, once a month or once a year. Your assistance is always needed and appreciated.

Ushers .....

like Greeters, welcome the community to worship, helping the community to enter into the liturgy. Ushers assist with seating, the collection of gifts, answering questions, and distributing the bulletins.
