I don't think Fr. Frank will mind if we peek inside this closet of the sacristy.

The white garment in front is called an alb. This garment is worn underneath. The word alb comes from the Latin word albus, which means white.

The garments behind the alb are called chasubles.

There are many different seasons and celebrations throughout the year.

We like to celebrate with many different colors throughout the year.

There is a small refrigerator in the sacristy.

Inside we see plastic bags of hosts.

We also see wine and water.

The bread and wine will become the Body and Blood of Jesus in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

The wine and water on the bottom shelf are in containers called cruets.

Here are two types of sprinklers of holy water.

We sprinkle holy water to remind us of our baptism.

Why are we baptized? Ask your parents to read to you the very last passage of Matthew's gospel in the New Testament. (Mt 28:16-20) These words of Jesus are very important and challenging.

You can also read about Jesus' own baptism at the beginning of this gospel. Ask your parents to help you find it. (Mt 3:13-17)

Well, I'd better go back outside of church and find out what Rory's up to...

Hey you crazy dog, what are you doing in that airplane? You want to go up and see the church from the sky? That sounds like a great idea! (Click on the plane to take off!)
