Frankie Visits
Most Pure Heart of Mary Church

Hi kids, I'm Frankie, and this is my dog Rory. We're going to visit Most Pure Heart of Mary Church.

It will be fun to explore the church and discover the many things inside and outside.

Well, I think we're ready... Rory, you lead the way!"

"Look Rory, this is the north side of church.

There is a beautiful statue of Mary above the entrance.

Mary is the mother of Jesus.

The statue was made in Italy.

It is one of the largest statues in the city.

It weighs over 8000 pounds!

This statue reminds us that our church is dedicated to
the Most Pure Heart of Mary.

Let's keep walking around the church...

This is the west entrance to the church.

See that beautiful round window above the entrance?

That's called the Rose Window.

It is dedicated to the members of the Lady's Sodality. They are now known as the Women's Fellowship.

"Roof...roof, roof!"

That's right Rory, that's the roof.

On top of the roof of the church is a steeple.
The steeple is 36 feet high. That's higher than
three basketball rims stacked on top of each
other!

Let's go in! Oh, wait! Rory...you better wait outside...

When we enter the church we see a font of holy water.

What do we do after we dip our hand in the holy water?

We dip our hand in the holy water and make
the Sign of the Cross.

We remember that we have been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
