Introduction
Welcome! Whether you are a
visitor or a parishioner, we hope you enjoy this virtual visit to our
church. The tour includes pictures, parish history and general
information about what you will find along the way. It seems I learn
something new about our church and parish every day, and I have been
a parishioner since my baptism here in 1969! The text of this visit
comes from an outline of an actual tour I give the inquirers and
sponsors of our R.C.I.A., or, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Many sources were used for the information compiled herein: church
archives, the "Scrapbook" edited by parishioner Lillian J. Kennedy,
the Catholic Source Book, by Rev. Peter Klein, and "A Tour of
a Catholic Church," by Thomas Richstatter, O.F.M., S.T.D. Scripture
citations are from the New American Bible.
The Children's Visit was developed to give young people an
introduction to (or review of) the many things they see and do when
they come to Mass. Parents are encouraged to journey with their
children, encouraging them to respond to the questions that appear
along the way.
Visitors and parishioners alike are encouraged to email
me with feedback,
questions or updates regarding the contents of these pages. Thanks
for visiting!
